If I had but a life
I would not follow you
On the road that leads to us
For what would be more cruel in love
Than to be cursed not to love forever?

I need to learn to miss you
I need to learn to say goodbye
It's a lesson that I wish to
have never have had to try

 I need to be without you
I just need to fade away
but one thing rings more true
I just need you to stay

 Pieces of my puzzle missing
people telling me it's fine
 I'm left here guessing
how am I to pass the time

Since the game is locked away
and I've played the losing hand
my mind is gone astray
through the numbered days we've had

 and I need to learn to miss you

 These words they've dried up
like my eyes since you've been gone
I guess I've been a bit caught up

to myself owing a debt
the one thing I hold dear
the memory of how we met
